MERTUSHA, THE MERANGEL OF POD-LYRICAL

Anciently enchanted…youthfully weathered,
she is the keeper of the key, of caves.
Her domain is the sea depths, from
Maliko to Kuiaha Bay.
Rising and taking flight when the moonbow glows,
to bathe in the Pa’uwela Point tide pools.
It is here, that Simion Uu caught a glimpse of Mertusha, a-time in the long ago.
Simion was living in the coast caves, secreted from
his false accusers.
The two were brief moonbow companions,
when Mertusha granted Simion a wish key, allowing his return
to home, at “Hale Kahu” in Kahiapo camp.
Full moon, moonbow, Pa’uwela Point tide pools…can
still offer an encounter, with the ancient, un-aging, Mertusha.
Be still, be aware, be the key.
